George Chivers

Councillor for Belmont Ward

Born in Perth, Scotland, I joined the Royal Air Force at the age of 15 ½.  During my time in the services, I have been posted to Aden, Singapore, Gan and Cyprus.

On my discharge, in 1975, I settled in Grantham at 129 Fifth Avenue, where I still reside.

Between us, my wife, Vanessa and I have 4 children, 10 grand-children and 3 great-grand children...with a 4th due soon.

I have had the honour of being a councillor for Belmont Ward for 12 years, and have served for 4 years on the Planning Committee, followed by 8 years on the Licensing Committee.

I have now retired, and am able to commit to more work on behalf of this Ward.

Additionally, I am also a councillor for our local Parish Council.

Although I am no longer actively associated with 47F (Grantham) Sqn. Air Training Corps, I still retain a great interest in the Squadron, and their progress.

I am also a member of The Royal British Legion, The Royal Air Force Association & the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes.

I continue to work hard for the benefit of all who live in this Ward, and also the District.
